Flash in the Pan: Buffet

50s-housewife-experiment - Copy“That’s it, I’ve had all I can take of this nonsense! One small dinner party after another and everyone of them left me feeling, well…distressed!” Betty exclaimed to Max while washing the dishes.
“So what do you intend to do about it, hold a banquet?” Max asked with curiosity as he dried dishes.
Betty eyes light up. “That’s it!” I’ll have one next month, then I can have everyone together. Your brilliant Max!”
“I was kidding, Kitten.” Max called Betty Kitten all the time.
“ Well I’m not!”
The big day arrived. Betty then gets all the food put out on the buffet tables making it look nice and pretty. Her guests arrive, fill up their plates and enjoy a nice meal with pleasant conversation.
That night after her guests had left, Betty lies in bed smiling, while wickedly thinking. “Finally, no distress, since they’ll all be dead by morning.”

Flash: Galley

Even though Bud’s friend, Jack was a rehabilitated serial killer, Bud let him stay with him and his sister Carol.
Jack was quite intrigued with Carol. Then one afternoon Bud caught Jack in the galley kissing his sister, and got jealous.
Then one day while Bud was alone in the apartment with Carol, he beat and attempted to rape her. However, Jack walked in, stabbed Bud in the back, cut him into pieces, then disposed his body. As a result, Jack had to leave. Carol wanted to go too, therefore she packed her suitcase and they fled.
Exhausted from driving, Jack stopped to get a room. The next morning he went out to get coffee. Once he returned he decided it was time to leave., He drove down a lonesome highway, stopped, set out her heavy suitcase, then drove off, except Carol was no longer in the car with him.

Flash in the Pan: Parboiled

chef-2Janice started her new job as a Chef’s assistant at a nearby local restaurant.
One of her many duties is to chop a fresh batch of vegetables each morning for the Chef for his daily menu and the rest to later be parboiled.
One day as she was working on this task, the Chef was in a bit of a hurry and asked her if she was done yet.
“No, not just yet,” she replied to him, feeling a bit inadequate for having not yet been done, “but I will be soon.”
“That’s quite alright, my dear,” he says with a pleasant smile, and continued tending to his task at hand while he waited for her to finish.
Finally she was done and brought the fresh vegetables to him, and asked, “Do you want me to add these vegetables to the pot of brains, or in the pot of intestines?”

Flash in the Pan: Fork

cooking-wifeAfter a full day of tending to the baby, Marla was exhausted.
Dinners in the oven, so she set the table, put out chilled wine, and candles.
“Bob will be home soon, I better change.” she thought.
Slipping into her new practical dress she remembered the earrings Bob gave her for her birthday and put them on. “Perfect, now to get the meat on the table.”
As she lights the candles she heared the door.
“I’m home!”
“Hello Bob, how was your day?”
“Hectic,” as he kissed her then sat down at the table.
“Dinner looks great, Marla, and so do you.”
“Mmm, the meat is delicious, and so tender I can cut it with a fork.” he mentions after he took a few bites.
“So how was your day Marla?”
“Tiring, but accomplished,”
“Was the baby good?”
“Mostly quiet.”
“That’s great! Where’s our baby now?”
“Your eating it, Bob.”
