With all this cold weather we and my friend have been having I thought it would be refreshing to see the country in full bloom with a mountain background and waterfall….just thinking warm.

I recently came across a new way to paint rocks with watercolors by watching the video by Terry Harrison. I gave it a try and it work out very well. This painting, focused primarily on the rocks, was my first attempt.

My husband is a fisherman and fishes all spring and summer about 99% of the time. Good thing I don’t interfere, or he would be singing, “I’m gonna miss her” lol. This waterfall in view was created from a challenge I found on Wet Canvas, though I think of it as my hubby. I enjoyed very much creating the rocks, it was loose and relaxing.
Watercolor on 140lb. press watercolor paper.

Charcoal drawing of a waterfall in the mountains
I had been thinking of another drawing I had created called, “Hidden Falls” when I created this one.
I wanted to make one similar on a larger scale.
I used the Soft Cotton Cloth Technique.
