Landscape charcoal drawing © 2015
This is the first charcoal drawing I’ve done in 2 years. It’s sort of a warm-up. I do have a concern of the mess that charcoal makes since I no longer have a basement to do my work in. I find charcoal to be my best medium, yet I fear the mess it could make in the house. I’m going to have to see what I can put on the walls in front and the side of my drawing table. If you have any ideas for that I’m open for suggestions

/ July 11, 2015Well it looks really good, Deb! I have no suggestions for your problem, though. Maybe you could google that. A lot of artists who use charcoal must have the same problem.

Actually, Faythe from GrammyMouseTail suggested I used sheets, then just throw them in the wash when they get dirty.

/ July 12, 2015Perhaps easy wipe drawing surface painted, varnished, laminated and 2 inch molding rim around 3 sides and side facing you put 2 inch molding like a chalk board dust collector at base. Or switch to oil pastel crayons, become a sculptor or novelist.
