Karen’s brother, Billy, was on his way to her house from work.
Karen set out a variety of lunch meat, rolls and dressings. That ought to be enough food.
Staring out the window with so much on her mind, she remembered she still needed to set out some beverage.
Billy walked in the front door, and they hugged each other. “There’s food on the kitchen table,” Karen told him.
‘Thanks, Karen, but I couldn’t eat anything just yet. Where’s mom at?”
“She’s resting peacefully on the living room couch under the tablecloth.”
