Memory of Mitch’s Ostrich
Several years ago we took a long drive out to Arizona to surprise my brother for his 60th birthday…he’s 13 years older than me. The drive went so well that we got close to my brother’s city a day early so we took a room in Holbrook for the night.
While there Mitch and I took a walk around the area to see all the interesting things this little town had to offer. While browsing on the main road we saw this large coop and stopped to have a look. This large 6 foot tall Ostrich cam out to greet us and seemed to take a huge liking to Mitch because it began to do the most wonderful dance just for him. Mitch was only feet from this Ostrich and laughing his butt off. The ostrich kept dance and showing off it’s feathers, trying very hard to impress him. Ha!…It was so funny! Neither of us will forget that Ostrich as long as we live. Oh what a shame it was that we had not owned a camera back then.
The question still remains. Does the Ostrich miss Mitch?…After all, the Ostrich seemed very upset as we walked away.
