  1. In this wonderful portrait of your mother I can see the truly delightful energy and immaculate detail that you have lovingly applied within, and it is a beautiful portrait my friend. One that I am sure is framed and has its own special place inside your home. Brilliant

    • Ah, my mother’s portrait….my favorite of all of my portraits to this day. I am still very pleased with the results of this one; her expression and features are captured extremely well. She would have been proud of this; rest her soul.
Thank you for commenting on my mother’s portrait, Andro! You have made my day again!

    • She certainly was…miss her bunches too! You’re favorite too!. You make me so much more proud, Cha! Mom would be pleased that you said that!
      Love and Hugs, xx

  3. That’s a very nice portrait, Deb. I would imagine it would have been difficult to paint.

You posted this one so long ago, few of your present commenters have seen it, which is too bad. Maybe you could re-post some of your earlier works when you have a slow time.

    • You know, Binky, you right! I’m going to do that to see what feedback I get after all these years….thank you for the suggestion, Binky!
      ♥Hugs♥ xx

        • I haven’t got any feedback on it yet today, but I do hope you are right. I know my mother would have loved this drawing of her.
Thanks Binky for the idea. It never occurred to me to re-post them, then when you mentioned it, I recalled us talking about it once before.
          ♥Hugs♥ xx

    • She was very kind…a heart of gold. When she felt very deeply…mostly love!
      You take care too.
      Thank you, Kathryn!
      Hugs, xx

  4. Lovely piece Debbie! 🙂

Your mother was a very pretty woman and you’ve done her proud… 🙂

Thanks for the visit and comment! 🙂

The new keyboard was ordered yesterday from Microdirect and should arrive in the next few days! 🙂

We have similar weather problems here.

As I write it is snowing in Scotland and wet and cold here! 😦

The colour is fine hun – the pictures look good and everything is eminently readable – remember your text will remain its original colour, so your old blogs will be unreadable on a light background…

The couhing has eased and I feel great – a couple more days and I’ll be fit to go to church! 🙂

    Love and squishy hugs!

    Prenin.

    • -She’d of love to know that…wonder if she does anyway. Thank you, Prenin…I really put my heart into this one.
      -You’re welcome…it’s my pleasure.
-Glad to hear that your getting a new one!
-I know, back and forth all the time.
-I’ve managed to get the text to change with the lighter background without any troubles. The trouble is I can’t seem to make up my mind about the dark or light.
-I’m really glad to hear you’re getting better. I’m also sure you’ve been missed at church….keep getting well.

      Love and Hugs, xx

  9. Hi Deb, I’m finally back and catching up! This is absolutely lovely and a wonderful tribute to your Mom! She would be so proud and I’m glad you re-blogged it to share with us. I can now feel your loss with my Mom’s passing. I was just thinking how hard this Mother’s Day is going to be for all of us…well, wonderful job, my friend, sending you hugs! xo

    • Yes, and you have been missed too, Lauren. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your dad over Easter.
Thank you for this lovely comment on my drawing of my mother. I know she would have loved that as much as the drawings. And she would have really loved you too, Lauren!
No, Mother’s Day is not an easy day…we both miss our moms now.

  10. She’s beautiful! And what a wonderful mother you have. Thank you for sharing this heartwarming post. Hugs from this side of the world 🙂

    • Aw, thank you so much Cha! I’m really glad I took his advice. There are so many artworks as this one that never got any attention back when I posted them because I knew nothing about how to draw in public views.
My mom would be so glad you liked the drawing of her…as I do!
      Hugs, xx

  11. I have managed to do a few respectable side profile portraits over the years but the frontal view – forget it. You’re particular talent is that it looks like a B/W photo.

    • Oh my mother would be tickled to know that you were thinking about her…as I am too!
I would love to be able to do a painting of her. Of anyone for that matter, but I just haven’t managed to date to get them to look too realistic.
Thank you for the lovely comment, Scott!
      Hugs, xx

  12. This is absolutely marvelous Deb…
you have drawn your moms potrait with so much love
She has done such a good job raising you..you are absolutely gem and a beautiful heart. you make her proud every day.

    • Thank you very much, my friend! This is one portrait drawing I will always cherish.
Thank you for the gift too, Soma! You always bring me love. 🙂
      Hugs, xx

    • She had the deepest brown eyes you could have ever seen. Her eyes would just swallow me up with warmth.
      Thank you so much, Tracy!
