Forest Edge

One of the most beautiful things I find when it rains, is the fog that settles in my yard at times. And when I gaze  through my living room window to the darkest part of my wooded yard and see the light at the other end if there is enough moon light.

  1. Fog always provides a surreal atmosphere. This picture has an interesting perspective and looks like it was taken with a fish-eye lens from the ground. Like something SIG would do!

    • After I took in the scene to fill up my memory of it as best I could I painted it…Sort of like when I do a sketch. So in a sense if is.
      Who is SIG?

Before I turn the computer off, I wanted to visit long enough to say how lovely and ethereal this is. You can see the mist!

Hugs and have a good week!

  20. Hi Deb, this is very cool looking. But what is a digital painting?

    Reply
    • Digital painting is painting with your computer and mouse. The programs would supply the colors, brushes and sizes and the rest is up to the artist. Just like traditional painting, only more forgiving…Hope that helped.

  25. Your painting is beautiful, I love the rain at times too, the mist and the rain can have a cozy dreamy feel to it at night. But I find fog kind of spooky, well maybe even alot spooky! lol. Probably a side effect of watching so many scary movies.
    Have a great day Deb.

    • Fog does create a spooky affect and the possible reason why they use it in movies for a spooky scene. It sure look a little spooky when I see it out there…Okay, it’s like this, when I first moved here I was not use to the property and the layout of it, so back then it looked really, really spooky to me. I’m use to it now, so it just looks really cool. Especially when the owls are out going who who…lol.

My background…Thank you! I most always have a hard time picking one out…Always end up with something solid or close to it.

  27. I think this is very different from what you’ve made so far (I mean, for this series). The tree in the middle, the fog, the dominant color… I REALLY love it. It’s still so mysterious and haunting. I don’t know why but your digital paintings remind me a lot of the atmosphere described in the Sookie Stackhouse novels (vampire novels). And I’m a fan! 🙂

    • Now that might be because I was painting so fast while I had the vision in my mind…I wanted to get the basics in before I forgot how it looked. Then I worked the rest keeping the same adrenalin going so I could keep the same style going to the end. between the weather, and the adrenalin it came out haunting. I’m really glad you like it, Cha!
