I’m in the mood to warm up a bit on some watercolor painting today, since my husband (who does not read my blog) will be busy watching the NASCAR races today. I can watch them too, and paint as well..talented aren’t I. lol. just kidding.
This watercolor painting reminds me of a memory of some Villas in an area by a man-made lake in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Watercolors on 140 lbs cold-press watercolor paper.

/ September 18, 2011Thank you, Gary, as you may know that was about the last thing I added to the painting and thought blue would be nice touch. Thank you for commenting.
Oh, I hope you are having a nice weekend too, Gary.

/ September 18, 2011A wonderfully rendered scene, Ms. A!
You are very talented indeed! I have never been able to control watercolor (which makes this all the more impressive to me)! Very nicely done!
🙂
Debbie Adams
/ September 18, 2011But that’s the beauty of it, you don’t have to control it…just let the water go where it wants. You would be surprised the beautiful things you can create by not trying to control it…I know, I should practice what I preach. But I do have a few in my watercolor collection that are loose and flowing freely.
Thanks for the comment, Bob!

/ September 18, 2011Lovely painting. It looks such a nice day there I could almost dive into the lake for a swim
Debbie Adams
/ September 18, 2011It’s a better looking day in that painting than it is around here. It’s still putting in down out here. Enough already…
It does look like a nice place to go swimming. Let go!…lol
Thank Tony,

/ September 18, 2011It’s amazing what a little NASCAR can inspire. Out of all that noise, comes a nice pastoral scene. The foreground bush gives it a nice depth.

/ September 19, 2011I just drown it out, but I have to look up from my work to see a good wreck. lol..the best part of racing.
Someone must have been with me when I put that it. Don’t know what made me use that color but everyone seems to like it…so far.
Thanks for commenting, Binky!

/ September 19, 2011How lovely, the color is gorgeous…would love to spend holiday there and swim in the lake…tho mommy would never let us swim there for sure.
Debbie Adams
/ September 19, 2011That is because the does not want anything to happen to you. You need to play in safe places. But there is always your dream.
I’m glad you like the colors, Kroten!

/ September 19, 2011Nice work with the watercolor. I enjoy working in this medium, but my colors come out too washed out for my preferences. You have good control, Deb.
Debbie Adams
/ September 19, 2011The less water you use, the more control you will have. Give it a try…
I’m glad you like it, George!

/ September 19, 2011Wow! I like how the villa is a little bit on the castle side. What’s better is how when you get to the end of the painting you see these blue leaves at the bottom. Those turned out to be my favorite part.
Debbie Adams
/ September 19, 2011It’s like I said, “everyone likes the blue leaves,” Some of the villas were a hand second or third floors, I guess that’s why it has a castle look to it.
Thanks, Curtis,

It was a holiday. For me to be in Scottsdale, that would be holiday. And yes, the scene as I recall it was quite relaxing.

/ September 22, 2011Very spacious and beautiful, Debbie. I like all that light on the water in the forground. It takes me right into the painting and enhances the depth tenfold!
Debbie Adams
/ September 23, 2011Oh yes, as you know there is a lot of space in Arizona, well…in the nice areas that is to say.
Glad you like it, Leslie, and thanks for coming in to comment!
