Binky the Wombat King

For some time now I’ve been wanting to do a painting of a nice little house with Binky either in it, or in the scene, but have not yet came up the the perfect little house for him. However, I did do this oil pastel painting of Binky from his photo…..hope you like it Binky.

For those of you who read my posts and comment may know “Binky.” Binky is Wombat, and a friend of mine of the Wombania Comic Strip that I read regularly. Binky is also a loyal commenter of my artworks.

For those of you who are not familiar with the comic strip and like a good laugh may want to check out his site here.

Thank you, Binky….for all of your support.

  2. WOWOWOW!!
I’ve never had my portrait painted before!
Now I know how all those famous kings and queens felt! I am known as the Wombat King in some circles, so now I have an Official Portrait to back up my claims!
    That is terrific, Deb.

    • I’m so glad to hear you like it, Binky!! I even edited my title for you to, “Binky the Wombat King”. After all, you are the king of my comic circle. You can add him to your portrait collection of you like….okay with me. Your claims are now backed up!

Thank you for coming by so quickly to see it, Binky!

    • Yes, I do love my art time. I find great pleasure in creating. But I didn’t create Binky, but did do his portrait from the photo in the original post. Yes, he does have big innocent eyes….he’s the King of wombats.
Thank you for stopping in to comment on this, jen!

  4. Excellent likeness of Binky, Debbie! I have visited his site several times and been confused, not knowing if it was one cartoon artist or many. After you posted this post, I clicked over there and spent some time discovering how to move around and how you all were commenting. Thank you for that.
For sure, I can take in his comics, now. It is just one artist, right? Ha!

    • Well the comic strip is one, with several characters (the wombats). Binky is the king of course. :-). Then of course many of the comments are by other comics, but many are from artists and the like. Take your time and browse around and tell Binky hello…. I know he would love to hear from you.

And yes, Binky is an artist, a comic strip artist.

I’m glad you like the painting of Binky, Leslie!

    • Wombania is the creation of one artist, me! Well, Peter might claim responsibility, but I wouldn’t believe him. The comic strip stars Binky, Winky, Twink, and Fraz (all Wombies), plus one slightly confused human, Chris.

Binky in the flesh so to speak, well now I have seen just about all of your wicked talents now, although in Art I would imagine that there are no boundaries and that every thought process brings a new and most interesting adventure whether it be oils, pastel, charcoal, inks, water colours, pencil or indeed any form of artistry technique that is applied.

This Binky character is certainly worth portraying here as he is simply adorable, but don’t tell anyone that I said so as I have the Skeletons, Zombies, Werewolves and Ghouls to think of, I wouldn’t want them thinking that this Vampire is losing his Marbles, or his Fangs for that matter 🙂 lol Just kidding.

I really like your take on Binky my good friend Deb
and well done, he is, now what is the word that I am
looking for? Ahhh yes he is Wicked.

    • He is a little cutie now isn’t he, now. But I think he would really like the term “wicked” you used. I know I and couldn’t be more pleased that you like his painting. You should check out his comic strip. Even a vampire needs a good chuckle now and then.
Yes, Binky’s style of portrait was bit different that what I usually do, but I find that when I try new things it opens up more doors for me. In more ways than one
I won’t tell on you about you calling him “adorable,” but some of your friends have been around my space an may see for themselves.
Thank you for such a wonderfully, wicked comment my dear friend, It’s is always a pleasure to hear/read your feedback!
Don’t over bite more than you need tonight now.

I’m kind-a-jealous, I’ve been visiting for sometime now, and no portrait of me! Hmmm, could it be that I’m not cute, but I wear glasses like Binky? Could it be that my hair is black and gray and I have a split between my two front teeth, wait a minute so does Binky? Could it be that I have small arms but with a larger waist line….Like Binky, wait a minute! I think I am Binky!
