Potted Geraniums

Potted Geraniums

Spring is in the air; a bit chilly still, but it’s here. Besides, the calendar say’s so.  The trees are budding, the grass is turning green. I even saw the daffodils sprouting up. Okay, okay, spring on my mind again, but can you blame me after that long winter? I wanted to get another painting in before I went to Hatteras, and thought I try my hand at flowers. The Geraniums looked to me to be about the easiest for me to try first.

Watercolors on 140 lb. watercolor paper.

    Very nice Debbie,
The colors used in the shadows and the warmth of the flowers, makes me want to go set on the porch swing now… Oh, but wait, it’s raining like crazy here. That’s alright though, my swing is in our gazebo, I knew that I put under roof for a reason! Beautiful painting.

    • Ah yes, the rain. Ryan, don’t feel bad, we have had our share of it for a week now. But the upside of it is all the beauty it will bring us. A swing in a covered gazebo? How nice!
Thank you so much for stopping in and commenting, Ryan!

    • Cape Hatteras Island, NC is where we go for vacationing. I think we talked about this once before and you goggled it.
I’m glad you like the painting. It was just a little something that I was able to find time to do before we took off. There has been so much to do first; Vet visit for puppy, extra shopping, getting the house sitter; all kinds of stuff.
Thank you for a lovely comment, Keith!

  5. Love, love, love the colors in this piece. The red, yellow, blues topped off with the shadows catching the reflected color off the red geraniums creating rosey violets. Beautiful debbie!

Hug that Cici for me! I’ll bet she’s growing.

  10. Hi Debbie, Your beautiful painting is so full of color and Spring!! I love it – a lot! While you are at the beginning of Spring, we are at the beginning of our Autumn. It rained and the wind blew all night and that is also okay. I’ll just look at your painting.
I am adding you to my blogroll if it is okay with you?

    • Hi Jan,
So good of you to come by to visit my art blog.
Yes, it is Spring, but wow, have we been getting our share of wind and rain here on the east coast. I love fall, Jan; all the leaves turning beautiful crisp colors is always a site to behold.
Yes, of course it is okay to put me in your blogroll; thank you so much for that. I now have you in my blogroll as well, Jan. Let me know if you want it to read differently.
I’m glad you like the painting, and thank you for the lovely comment, Jan!

      • Thank you for adding me to your blogroll! It is great thanks. And how yours read on mine? The wind is still blowing and it is very cold here – somebody said today that we had our first snow on the other side of the mountains already.

      • It reads just fine, Jan; much appreciated too!
Snow just on the other side of the mountain sounds to me that it won’t be long for you to get some of the snow yourself. Are you looking forward to the snow? I’m thinking, “not.” lol.
What are you plans for your next artwork, Jan?
