Solitude

This is what I love most about getting an early start off to the beach on the east coast.  It’s peaceful and quiet with the soft sounds of the water waves, seagulls and pelicans is absolute solitude . The sand is cool and the air is freshened with a mist in the air that drys of quickly as the sun rises to meet the day.

Created with soft pastels, scrubbing in the color from dark to light for the sky, then the same for the water. The same principles for the sun: dark to light colors.

  1. This one is so spiritual in its simplicity and casting of warm light. Sometimes, I just get so carried away. Very strong, Debbie!

  3. With 20 inches of snow in NY, I just want to bask in the warmth and glow of this setting sun.

  4. Well the sun is actually rising over the Atlantic Ocean in the Outer Banks. But it would still be warming with each passing moment.
You stay warm in all the snow you have there. I lucked out this time; not snow.
    Thank you for commenting, Carol!
